Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda

Angela McGlowan

Being a black conservative in the US has never been easy. In this book, Ms. McGlowan sets out damning case against liberals and progressives (primarily in the Democratic Party) in America. Part one of this book describes and how their policies, more often than not, end up hurting minorities the most, whether it be in cases of welfare, public schools, raising minimum wage, etc. The second part of this book goes into the history of politics concerning blacks, particularly after the Civil War, lifting the role the Democrat Party played in "keeping blacks in their place" through intimidation and violence, using the KKK as their enforcement arm. Very well written - I had no idea that I could read the word "Bamboozled" so many times and not find it annoying. :)

This book was published just as the endless campaign of 2008 was getting underway, and Ms. McGlowan seems to think that Hillary Clinton is the presumptive Democratic nominee, and so it would be interesting to get her take on the election of Barack Obama as President, as well as an opinion of how the housing collapse has affected minorities, and, in reference on her short chapter on feminism, how well her opinion on it in general seems to have been precient considering the firestorm of "controversy" surrounding Sarah Palin after being named running mate to John McCain in 2008. I also wonder if she would have different things to say about Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., now that it seems as though he was mixed up in corruption with former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
